Perfectly Spicy Salsa
This is the perfect restaurant-style salsa! At least it is to me. This salsa is loaded with garlic, jalapenos, onion, and fresh cilantro. It’s smooth without chunks and perfect for dipping with tortilla chips or as a topping.
I say it’s perfect to me because, unfortunately, this salsa has earned itself another name. Upon first bite, I’ve had a number of people immediately exclaim: IT’S TOO SPICY. Therefore, I like to also think of it as the Perfect TOO SPICY Salsa. I’m a big fan of spicy food and while I do enjoy mild salsa, when I make my own salsa, I want it to be flavourful and have a kick. I can’t get enough of it. My family members will also attest that is perfect!
I love to use it as a topping for eggs, fish tacos, fajitas, tex-mex bowls, and as a dip for quesadillas! And while I don’t eat many tortilla chips these days but this restaurant-style salsa is also an excellent companion for those. It’s especially great when mixed with sour cream or guacamole.
Perfect Restaurant-Style Salsa
This recipe makes a whole lot of salsa! If it’s too much for you, share some with a friend, loved one, neighbour, or split the recipe in half. And if you are not a fan of spicy food, not to worry, I suggest only using one jalapeno (seeds removed), omitting the cayanne pepper, and reducing the amount of onion to 1/4 quarter cup. You can also reduce the amount of cilantro as well, but I don’t think the recipe is as good without it. Do not skimp on the garlic.
The perfect (to me) restaurant-style salsa! Spicy, with plenty of onion, garlic, and cilantro. This recipe is for a full batch of salsa, about 8 cups.
